Boys basketball prepares for postseason

As the regular season winds down, the boys basketball team will enjoy a full week without any games before they play Buckeye Valley on February 22 for a potential share of the MOAC league title. The much needed rest should benefit the team greatly, as they have played 7 games in 16 days, winning 6 of those matchups.

When asked about the role that fatigue can play in a busy stretch, junior guard and team leading scorer Andrew Koenig said, “As a team we have done a good job of coming in night after night and doing what we need to do to get the job done. Our hard work throughout the season is paying off.”

After their bye week, the boys come back to face the Buckeye Valley Barons on Tuesday and then the Pleasant Spartans on Friday, February 26 at home for senior night.

Following the conclusion of their regular season, the Pioneers will move on to the state tournament. Due to their impressive season, the Pioneers have earned a first round bye. Alder will face the winner of Bishop Hartley and Eastmoor at home on March 5 at 7 PM.
