On May 5, the JA yearbook staff hosted a pep rally in order to get students “pepped” up for prom the following night.

The pep rally began with the staff’s annual announcement of the yearbook dedication for the year. This year the yearbook was dedicated to JA guidance counselor Ann Davis.

“In the beginning of the year we talked about who we thought deserved the yearbook dedication this year, and who would go best with this year’s theme. This year’s theme was ink and we thought about what teacher or staff member has to deal with every student and ‘leave their mark’ on every student, and we chose Mrs. Davis. She is involved with every student and their mark on the school,” said yearbook staff member Avery Salyer.

After the announcement of the yearbook dedication, four students from each grade were asked to participate in a lifesize game of Hungry Hungry Hippos.

“I thought that the Hungry Hungry Hippo game was very entertaining to watch. Although it was entertaining, I think that the participants should have been required to wear helmets. If you were a helmet on a bike, shouldn’t you wear one on a scooter?” said senior Kristen Beachy.

The seniors pulled through with the win with participants Kyle Hustek, Isabel Rodela, Hunter Eudaily, and Nathan Uhrman. The juniors came in second, the sophomores in third, and the freshmen came in fourth.
