With a new school year comes new students, new classes, new experiences and yes, sometimes even new teachers.

    One of these teachers is Ms. Maren Oehl, who before beginning teaching history here at Jonathan Alder, spent five years educating high schoolers in Chicago, Illinois.

When asked why she chose history she said, “I have a passion for it.” Not only that, but she loves the discussion high school students can bring to the table with the topics she teaches them. That’s one of the reasons she teaches on a high school level.

    This year Ms. Oehl will be teaching American History and AP U.S. History. Along with those classes, she is also in charge of a study hall period.
