The Nintendo Switch is a video game system that has the ability to be played on the TV and on the go. The Nintendo Switch itself is more or less a tablet with controllers on the sides of it. These controllers are known as the Joycon and are quite versatile. They can be used on the Switch itself, in a controller grip, free hand or, even better, each Joycon can even be turned on its side and suddenly, you have two controllers so you can play with someone else wherever you go. The President of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Amie describes the Nintendo Switch as a,

First of all, the Nintendo Switch is the cheapest of the 3 main consoles on the market right now. Those 3 consoles being the Playstation 4 Pro, The Xbox One X and of course the Nintendo Switch. These consoles cost $400, $500 and $300 respectively. This allows the Nintendo Switch to be more accessible to High Schoolers with its lower price.

It’s important to note that Nintendo Switch controllers are, on average $10 to $20 more than those of the Playstation 4 Pro and the Xbox One X. However, the tech in the Joycon and Pro Controllers are more advanced than that of its competitors. With included NFC reading tech to scan Near Field Communication Chips and HD Rumble that allows you to experience all kinds of different feelings from the game you are playing, the increased price point is arguably worth it.

Next up is the fact that the Nintendo Switch is very versatile because you can play on the go or at home on the TV. This feat is achieved via the use of the Nintendo Switch Dock that you plug into your TV. Then you simply put the Nintendo Switch into the dock and now you can play your games on the big screen. senior, Caleb Stoll had this to say about the versatility of the Nintendo Switch, “Bringing it to school last year and playing it in the morning and playing with everyone before school started.”

However if you’ve got somewhere to be or are going on a trip, the entertainment doesn’t have to stop there as you can just take the Nintendo Switch out of the dock and with you. Don’t forget that the Joycon can be removed from the Nintendo Switch to allow you to play however you feel most comfortable, only adding the the versatility of the Nintendo Switch.

Finally the Nintendo Switch has a wide variety of fantastic games. Nintendo makes magical games that consistently hit high scores on review charts and sell incredibly well. Just ask another senior, Grant Frambes about Super Mario Odyssey, “In short, the sound effects, music, artwork, and super intuitive controls make it worth buying the entire console for the one exclusive.” Stoll had a few words about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild, “There’s just so much to do and explore in it. And after you beat it then there’s still a ton left to do.”

There’s such a large selection of genres and experiences to choose from on this console. From the vast worlds of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild and The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim to the high stakes multiplayer of Splatoon 2 and Rocket Leauge to the countless other experiences from Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Fifa ‘18, DOOM and beyond, there’s something for everyone on the Nintendo Switch.

So there you have it, the Nintendo Switch is a great and convenient source of entertainment for High Schoolers because the Nintendo Switch is the cheapest of the 3 consoles on the market, it is very versatile because you can play on the go and at home and finally it has a wide variety of fantastic games. So, will you soon be making the switch to Nintendo Switch?
