The Jonathan Alder Competition Cheerleading team will be competing in the 2018 State Championship competition on Sunday, March 4.

Senior Megan North reminisced on her favorite memories with her competition team: “My favorite memory from comp was when we went to the escape room and didn’t escape.” North described how the team had countless practices to prepare for States and how they used other competitions to prepare themselves. The team also practices tumbling weekly.

In the past, the Competition Cheer team has been very successful at the state competition. In 2015, the team took home third place at State, and in 2016, the team was State runner up, but in 2017 Jonathan Alder did not have a competition team. The girls are hoping to come back strong this season at States. ¨It feels good to be competing for the last time, but it is also kind of nerve wracking because we all really want to do well and win,¨ said senior Sernia Chapman.

Good luck to the Jonathan Alder Competition Cheer team.
