Breaking News — At 12:19 pm on December 7th, Jonathan Alder School District families received news of a bomb threat made at the high school.

The threat was discovered in a women’s bathroom sometime during the first lunch period.

To ensure the safety of the students and staff members, administration and the Sheriff’s department deemed it necessary to evacuate the building to the stadium and then onto buses.

The Sheriff’s department could not confidently determine the credibility or the legitimacy of the threat. Therefore the students and staff members were permitted re-entrance to the school.

An announcement at the end of the day made by Principal Mr. Aurin thanked students for their cooperation, explained that precautions were taken for the safety of the students, and assured the students that situations of this sort are not to be taken lightly.

Dismissal and after-school activities will remain unchanged.

The Pioneer Press will continue reporting as we gain more information.
