Alder Alumni: Katlyn Miller

Katlyn Miller, Guest Writer

My name is Katlyn Miller and I graduated in the class of 2011. I am currently residing in Hutchinson, Kansas where I recently received my Licensed Practical Nursing license, and am now working to complete my RN. I am working as a Charge Nurse at a nursing home, and am looking forward to beginning a new position as Assistant Clinic Coordinator at El Dorado Correctional Facility- maximum security unit.

My advice to anyone — still in high school or not: be proud of who you are. If you don’t like yourself, only you can evolve yourself into the person who you want to be.  Follow that dream that seems crazy–if you want it enough, you’ll make it happen.  Enjoy life. You only get one. And we all know that life is short and can be gone in an instant. Another piece of advice — appreciate the older people around you — your teachers, parents etc. Believe it or not, once you get to college and beyond, you’ll be thankful that they taught you what they did.
I am so proud of JAHS. Stay Strong Pioneers.
