Top Spring Break Destinations

Once the snow melts and spring enters the air, all the students begin to look forward to Spring Break and the vacations they will take. With school out for an entire week, plus the following Monday, there is no limit to the places you could go; however, with so many options it can be hard to pick the best place. To help you, the staff of “The Pioneer Press” has put together a list of different places to visit during Spring Break 2016.

Florida

Florida has become one of the ideal Spring Break destinations. It has so many beautiful beaches and many other great tourist stops. On the west side of the state, along the the Gulf Coast, there are the beautiful beaches of Siesta Key, Clearwater and Cayo Coast, just to name a few. Cocoa Beach, Miami Beach, and Fort Lauderdale make up some of the most popular beaches on the east side of the Floridian peninsula. If chilling at the beach is not for you, Florida also boasts many other attractions such as Walt Disney World, Busch Gardens, Seaworld, and The Everglades.

The Caribbean

Nothing screams Spring Break more than a vacation to the Caribbean. With its many islands and tropical environment, this is definitely one of the top places to go over Spring Break. There are at least 28 different islands as well as six Central American countries that surround the Caribbean Sea. If you enjoy hiking in nature, viewing ancient ruins, or just lounging around at the beach, the Caribbean has something for you.

The Rocky Mountains

For all of you cold weather lovers, a Spring Break Rocky Mountains trip might be right up your alley. This mountain range spans over eight different states. Although some of these states are too close to the equator and do not have snow; however, the rest of the states have snow year round on the mountain tops. You don’t have to love snow to love the Rockies, but it is recommended.

Washington D.C.

If you don’t like beaches or really warm or really cold weather, Washington D.C. might be the place for you. The city itself has much to offer to tourists, from the Smithsonian, to the White House, to the National Zoological Gardens. Most of the attractions are museums or history based, so if you are not interested in history this destination is probably not for you. If you do like history, this is a great place for you to visit.
