Sophomore class president, Nathan Perky is October’s student in the spotlight. As Perky attends his second year of high school here at JAHS, he continues to play boys soccer, and enjoys watching the girls team play as well. “I enjoy watching soccer whether girls or boys are playing, so it’s pretty cool that our boys soccer team and girls soccer team are able to support each other,” stated  Perky.

He enjoys watching basketball on television and hopes to become a general manager for a basketball team after high school. When asked how his high school experience has been, Perky  answered, “High school has been a lot better than junior high was for me because I have gotten a lot less detentions here than I did in seventh and eighth grade.”

Perky’s best friend is Max Johnson and Perky claims to have a special girl in his life, but she remains unnamed. His favorite class in geometry, but “it’s only because I have Clark as a teacher and he’s so laidback and easy to talk to,” explained  Perky. He stays involved outside of school by attending small group and prayer breakfast at his church. Perky is continuing family tradition by attending Alder as his brothers and sisters attended Alder before him.
