Mikayla Evans is a senior and has attended Alder since kindergarten. She is involved with the symphonic choir, is a section leader in treble choir, and has a daughter named Reyna. We sat down with Mikayla as a part of our 24 with ’24 interview series.
Q. What’s your favorite memory of your time at Alder?
A. Definitely 6th grade camp, it was so fun.
Q. What are three things you can’t live without?
A. Choir, Reyna (my daughter), and chocolate milk.
Q. What’s one thing people don’t know about you?
A. My family owns the Bob Evans farm.
Q. How would you define yourself in three words?
A. Resilient, creative, nurturing.
Q. What was your last dream?
A. Graduating but it was at cedar point and we ambushed the teachers with water guns.
Q. Best piece of advice you’ve received?
A. Mistakes are okay until it becomes a consistent habit.
Q. If you made a documentary, what would it be about and why?
A. What my life as a teen mom is like. When I explain little bits to people, they seem sorta surprised by what I have to say.
Q. Last piece of content you consumed that made you cry?
A. The video of Reyna taking her first steps.
Q. Song you can listen to on repeat?
A. “Burning House” by Cam.
Q. If you could switch lives with someone for a day, who would it be?
A. Probably my daughter, I’d love to see the world through her eyes.
Q. Dream country to visit?
A. Maldives.
Q. What’s the biggest surprise you’ve had?
A. Finding out I was going to be a mom at 16.
Q. If your life was a TV show, what song would be in the intro?
A. Sk8ter Boi by Avril Lavigne.
Q. What 3 people living or dead would you like to make dinner for?
A. Bob Marley, Bob Ross, and my mom.
Q. Most adventurous thing you’ve done in your life?
A. Snuck to my friends house at 2 am in 7th grade.
Q. What would you like to be remembered for?
A. Overcoming what’s been thrown my way.
