Addison Schumacher is the 2025 class president, student council president, one of the nature club founders, and NHS president. She is also in the science club, math club, Spanish club, LEO club, the national Spanish honors society, and is a member of the volleyball team. Her plans for after high school are attending Miami University and majoring in chemistry.
Q: What’s your favorite memory of your time at Alder?
A: Probably being London my freshman year on the volleyball team, and like the whole crowd came onto the court and that was really fun.
Q: What are three things that you can’t live without?
A: Probably my family, and reading or books.
Q: What’s one thing people don’t know about you?
A: I really like to write and read poetry.
Q: How would you define yourself in three words?
A: I would say passionate, productive, and optimistic.
Q: What is the best piece of advice you’ve received?
A: To just always challenge yourself; put yourself in the position and learn how to get through it.
Q: What is the last piece of content you’ve consumed that made you cry?
A: I just read “Where the Crawdads Sing,” and that made me cry like five times.
Q: What song could you listen to on repeat?
A: “Tangerine” by Noah Richardson.
Q: If you could switch lives with someone for a day, who would it be?
A: Maybe like my mom.
Q: What is your dream place to visit?
A: I really want to go to Iceland or Ireland.
Q: What three people, living or dead, would you like to make dinner for?
A: I like to cook for my dad. My dad’s a chef, [and then] my boyfriend and my grandma.
Q: What was the most adventurous thing you’ve done in your life?
A: I went rock climbing in Virginia, like legit rock climbing.
Q: What would you like to be remembered for?
A: I think just being passionate about the things I do and about caring for people.
