Joel Mitchell has participated in many extracurriculars in his time at JA, including the musicals, a capella, show choir, NHS, and tennis. He also participated in CNC club. Next year, he is planning to go to Ohio University for mechanical engineering.
Q: What’s your favorite memory of your time at Alder?
A: I really enjoyed my time doing “Hadestown,” and I would say probably opening night of the show was one of my memories that I can recall.
Q: What are three things you can’t live without?
A: I’d say my car, my friends for sure, and microwave burritos.
Q: What’s one thing people don’t know about you?
A: I played football in eighth grade.
Q: What is the best piece of advice you’ve received?
A: I really enjoy the one “just don’t look too far ahead.”
Q: If you made a documentary, what would it be about and why?
A: Probably like the last Pontiac owner’s experience of that.
Q: How would you define yourself in three words?
A: Driven, critical, creative.
Q: What is one song that you can listen to on repeat?
A: It’s called “From Your Own Eyes” by a band called Vansire.
Q: What was the last piece of content you’ve consumed that made you cry?
A: One of the songs we’re singing in choir right now called, “Even when he is silent”

Q: What is your dream place to visit?
A: The moon
Q: What’s the biggest surprise you’ve had?
A: I have a little side business thing, and when it actually started working.

A: Kyra Neeley, Teagan Whitaker and Sarah Malone.
Q: What was the most adventurous thing you’ve done in your life?
A: Me and my dad were camping out in Colorado. It was really pretty and we climbed a decently big mountain.
Q: What would you like to be remembered for?
A: I’d like to be remembered for the stuff I did in the music department, but also to be remembered as a friend.
