Braxton Overmyer is a member of both the football and baseball teams. After high school, he plans to major in either business or construction management. He hopes to play football in college, but plans to go to either Cincinnati or Ohio University otherwise.
Q: What’s your favorite memory of your time at Alder?
A: Baseball practices or like the spring trip for baseball with all my teammates.
Q: What are three things you can’t live without?
A: I’d say my car because it gets me everywhere. My phone, and then I gotta go with my football helmet because it protects me.
Q: What’s one thing people don’t know about you?
A: Some people know but a lot of people don’t. My mom works in the district now.
Q: How would you define yourself in three words?
A: Entertaining, fun… I’m not really good with words… I’ll say polite.
Q: What is the best piece of advice you’ve received?
A: When I was going into my freshman year, all the teachers were like, it matters. So doing my work freshman year was a big thing.
Q: If you made a documentary, what would it be about and why?
A: Probably about baseball and like our baseball team and all the things it’s like; all the life lessons it’s taught us.
Q: What is the last piece of content you consumed that made you cry?
A: I think I watched “The Good Dinosaur.” This was a while ago, but I watched it and I cried in the theater.
Q: What is a song you can listen to on repeat?
A: “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield.
Q: If you could switch lives with someone for a day, who would it be?
A: Probably Micah Parsons.
Q: What is your dream place to visit?
A: I’d love to go to the Bahamas and see the water there and everything.
Q: What’s the biggest surprise you’ve had?
A: I think it was my 16th birthday. I was coming home and all my friends were at my house and I had zero idea that they were there.
Q: What 3 people living or dead would you like to make dinner for?
A: My grandpa, LeBron James, and then like Tom Brady.
Q: What was the most adventurous thing you’ve done in your life?
A: I would just say probably going snowboarding in New York. I feel like it’s pretty adventurous.
Q: What would you like to be remembered for?
A: Overall, I’d say just being a good person, if anything. Or good at sports, I guess.
