Jackson Meriweather is a member of the golf team. He is also a member of his church’s youth group, Young Life, and the FCA here at Alder. He plans to play golf and continue his education at Ohio Dominican University.
Q: What’s your favorite memory of your time at Alder?
A: I would probably say that it would be all the practice rounds and stuff I did for golf, where we made a good team bond and those memories, especially this year after it being the last year that kind of stuck with me.
Q: What are three things you can’t live without?
A: My Bible, my golf clubs, and food.
Q: What’s one thing people don’t know about you?
A: I quit golf for three years when I was like eight years old. … I kind of got burnt out on it, so my mom made me quit. I went and played football for like three or four years.
Q: How would you define yourself in three words?
A: Smart, faithful, and resilient.
Q: What is the best piece of advice you’ve received?
A: Probably just keep your head down and keep going at things.
Q: If you made a documentary, what would it be about and why?
A: Probably just my journey of playing sports … I played multiple sports growing up and then decided to go to one when I got in high school.
Q: What is the last piece of content you consumed that made you cry?
A: Probably a movie. I can’t remember the last time where something other than that made me cry.
Q: What is a song you can listen to on repeat?
A: “7 Summers” by Morgan Wallen.
Q: If you could switch lives with someone for a day, who would it be?
A: Scottie Scheffler.
Q: What is your dream place to visit?
A: Italy.
Q: What’s the biggest surprise you’ve had?
A: Probably when we got our dog. That was pretty cool.
Q: What 3 people living or dead would you like to make dinner for?
A: My grandpa, my dad, probably my brother, it’d probably just be my family.
Q: What was the most adventurous thing you’ve done in your life?
A: Went on a big, I don’t know if it was a big hike, but like a hike where we kind of like made our own trail and we went cliff jumping off into a lake, which was pretty cool.
Q: What would you like to be remembered for?
A: How I treat other people and the way that I kind of persevered through things, both in sports and in life.
