Returning to a Routine

Riley Gruenbaum, School News Editor

Dear Editor,

Returning to the routine of school can be both good and bad. By the time Summer or Christmas break comes to an end, I personally feel ready to get back into a daily routine. Not having set plans from day to day seems great at first, but soon begins to create anxiety and boredom. Although it may be difficult to start waking up early for school again, the routine that comes from school gives me the feeling of organization that helps with the stress of school and other outside activities.

Although Christmas and Summer breaks can create anxiety due to a lack of routine, they are also beneficial. The breaks give students a rest from academic activities and the opportunity to do other activities that they enjoy. I also personally enjoy breaks as they give me more time to put into my job in an attempt to make extra money during the holidays. Breaks from school can also be used to spend more time with family as most students seem to do when on a break from their academic activities.

Summer and Christmas breaks have both their advantages and disadvantages.  It all comes down to personal preference, whether a person likes routine or enjoys living day to day.

  Sincerely,
