Reasoning with resolutions

Matthew Seimer, Editor-in-Chief

The first week of January is known to be the most popular time of the year for workout gyms across America. The second week of January is typically the time when the capacity of  gym members returns back to normal.

Many people spend the last weeks and months of the year preparing to make the changes that they think will make a difference in their lives. Many of these potential changes, often known as “New Year’s Resolutions”, typically end up on the backburner of people’s daily duties. Lots of people eventually give up taking the time to make promises to themselves at the beginning of the New Year. Many other people wonder, why do I need to wait until a new year to make the changes that I want to make in my life?

I believe that January 1 gives people extra motivation to try to better themselves when their wants and dreams easily get forgotten in daily routines. “New Year, new me” can truly become a reality if the person sets their mind to their task.

I also believe if someone develops a wanted change for their life, that they should not wait until the beginning of the next year to start their journey towards their goal.

    Sincerely,

Matthew Seimer
