Jonathan Alder’s competition cheer team has been preparing for months for their upcoming season. Although the Lady Pioneers have a great deal of talent, the team has hit a few bumps in the road with different injuries.

Senior Morgan Sarver explained, “We’ve had to change our routine a lot this season, and we don’t have a lot of practice time.  We’ve worked hard and used our time wisely to implicate the changes necessary to make the best routine.”

Just after the team’s first competition, the they had an injury which resulted in changing every previous formation they had practiced.  Within just a week, the team practiced and managed to pull off all new formations.  With only performing at two competitions so far, the competition team has more chances to show their skills.  With each competition completed, the team has ranked higher each time.  Sarver says, “I think our season is going great!  I think we have a very good chance of winning states this year.”

The team’s biggest rivals are Upper Sandusky and St. Clairsville.  The competition team recently received their bid for state finals.  The team hopes for that state title, but overall hopes to dominate the floor.
