JAHS students take control in elections

Becoming a leader is something everyone should aspire to do. Jonathan Alder High School recently held class elections. Each grade elects a president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. These decisions are made by the students from each grade level.
Juniors, Isabel Rodela, Lily Hess, Caroline Cuica, and Taylor Izzard were all re-elected to their previous junior offices their upcoming senior year. For next year’s juniors, Ivan Wehner, Olivia Moore, Maddie McMillen, and Peyton Mast have been elected. The sophomores of the upcoming school year have elected Sandy Moser, Morgan Hess, Abby Doza, and Erin Jackson. The incoming freshmen class officers will be chosen at their first class meeting in the fall.
When ask about their plans for their upcoming senior year, President Isabel Rodela and Vice President Lily Hess both decided they have a goal of making the class of 2017 have a fun senior year that will be one to remember. Hess stated, “I intend to make the senior cookout filled with delicious food and fun games. I plan to schedule the senior trip around 6th grade camp so seniors can attend both if they want to. Also, I hope to schedule the reunions and plan fun ideas!” Rodela said, “I plan to encourage our class as seniors to support one another.. Whether that be at athletic events, plays, or just in the classroom, I want everyone to have fun our last year as a whole class. I plan for our senior year to be one to remember.”
