The girls’ soccer team finished their season on Saturday, October 29 with a loss against Granville. This was the district championship game and the girls lost by a score of 1-0.

Head Coach Matt Evans was not disappointed with his players, nonetheless. “These girls played their hearts out. They worked for each other in a game that we knew was going to be difficult,” said Evans. “This team was voted most likely to win states this year, and the fact that we were tied with them for so long says a lot about our overall character as a team.”

After winning districts last year, the team was disappointed to be knocked out the tournament in the finals. “I really thought that we could pull it off and win,” said senior captain Lily Hess. “We’ve been working all season to prepare for this, and it was really disappointing ending in a loss.”

Returning players have high hopes for next years season. “We’re losing some really good players, but we also have quite a few strong returning players” said sophomore Nora Squires. “I have high hopes that next year we can work to get back to the finals of the tournament, and get a trophy that we deserve.”
