Track continues to improve

Head Coach Justin Creps has been stressing “the change” in the landscape of the Alder Track program. “The change” includes tougher workouts, tougher competition, and more success. The first few weeks of the season have shown incredible amounts of change in the program.

At the Columbus School for Girls Invitational, both the boys and girls won the meet. The boys by 50 and the girls by 30. This was the girls second win after defeating North Union in a dual meet.

The track program has also seen multiple athletes in the Milesplit Outdoor Rankings.

On the girls side, senior Aziza Ayoub is ranked first in the 800 m and anchors the 3rd ranked 4×400 m. Also on the 4×400 m are senior Emily Davis, junior Lexi Thorpe, and sophomore Maddy Killian. On the boys side, junior Jase Headings trails Heath senior Taylor Hopkins by .5 seconds for the top spot in the 800 m.
Jonathan Alder will next head to Ben Logan on Friday.
