Along with all of the other changes that come with a new school year, Jonathan Alder welcomes four new foreign exchange students.

Sofe Hermida Vazquez is visiting from Spain. She chose the United States to make new friends, experience what living with another family is like, and to help her improve her English. She is currently living with the Shaw family and is a junior at Alder.

From Norway, we have Lisa Skogsøy. Lisa wanted to visit the United States so that she could experience a new culture and have time away from the small community she lives in. Her hosts are the Matessa family and she is a senior at Jonathan Alder. Skogsøy also writes a column for The Pioneer Press.

Elin Gustavsson is from Sweden. She chose to study in the United States to experience high school life in America. Elin is living with the Schaeffer family and is a sophomore.

Paula Berge is visiting from Germany. She chose to study in the United States to better her English and to have new experiences. Paula’s host family is the McCoy family. She is a sophomore at the high school.

The Pioneer Press is excited to welcome these students to the Alder community.
