Boys and Girls both Qualify for Regionals

On Saturday, the Jonathan Alder Boys and Girls Cross Country teams traveled to Watkins Memorial High School for the District Championships.
Both teams were seeking to reach their second Regional Championships, the first for girls since 2015 and the first for Boys since 1989.
Freshman Morgan Hicks led the Girls team running a 19:04, bringing home a District Championship. Joining Hicks on the All District Team was freshman Maddie Davis and junior Ashlyn McDaniel, who placed 4th and 5th respectively.
The Girls team tied with Bexley for first place, who also scored 79. The tie came down to each team’s sixth place runners, but Bexley’s sixth runner out ran Jonathan Alder’s, narrowly beating Jonathan Alder.
Sophomore Luke Malone led the Boys team, running a 16:28, placing third. Joining Malone on the All District Team was senior Jase Headings and sophomores Gavin Frick and Michael Gray.
The Boys team placed second, behind rivals Buckeye Valley.
Both teams look to qualify for the State Championship on October 28th at Pickerington North High School.
