In Jonathan Alder’s inaugural year in the Central Buckeye Conference, athletes from 7th to 12th grade visited Bellefontaine High School for the inaugural CBC Leadership Conference.

Multiple athletes were chosen from each team by their respective coaches to represent Jonathan Alder at the conference. Jonathan Alder’s athletes were joined by nearly 500 fellow athletes from the ten CBC schools.

The athletes from the ten schools enjoyed a full day of focusing on qualities of character, leadership, league-play, and sportsmanship.

Senior Jase Headings attended the leadership conference on Tuesday. Headings said, “It was a great experience, and I’m happy I got to experience it before I graduated.”

The leadership conference was highlighted by keynote speaker, Ohio High School Athletic Association Commissioner Jerry Snodgrass. Snodgrass spent the day speaking about disciplining and certifying officials and the difficulties of recruitment at the high school level.

At the end of his speech, Snodgrass challenged the athletes to become leaders on and off the field and make a positive impact on their community.
