Ohio Election Day

One of the most glorious privileges of being an American citizen is the right to vote on Election Tuesday.

Last Tuesday, citizens from across the country visited their local polls to vote on many statewide issues.

In Ohio, the two most highly debated issues on the ballot were Issues 1 and 2. Issue 1 would place new guarantees for crime victims and their families in the state constitution. Issue 2 sought to curb prescription drug prices paid by the state for prisoners, injured workers and poor people.

Issue 1, also known as Marsy’s Law, won voter support. However, Issue 2 Ohio voters rejected the proposal.

Regarding Jonathan Alder, Mary Jo Boyd ran unopposed and retained her seat on the Board of Education.
