French Club is a school club that takes place every first Friday of the month. Anyone can come, and they eat snacks and have fun activities. The whole idea behind French Club is to expose students to more of the French culture. All meetings are centered around a French event or holiday.

Last Friday, French Club celebrated National French Week. During the meeting, members got to compete against each other by trying to build their best imitation of the Eiffel Tower out of toothpicks and marshmallows. Students were given about 10 minutes to complete their replica, and then a small group of teachers judged the creations.

Over 20 groups submitted replicas, but sophomores Beeona Carpenter and Alexis Gilkerson were declared the winners and were awarded a $20 gift card to La Chatelaine, a French bakery in Dublin.

Winners for the week-long French Trivia contest and the poster competition were also announced: sophomore Madi Baker won the French Trivia competition, and freshman Elaina Winslow won the poster competition. Both girls received gift cards to La Chatelaine.
