On February 3, Jonathan Alder’s show choir competed in the Walsh Jesuit Great Lakes Invitational. At the end of the night, they had placed second in their division and fifth overall.
The Jonathan Alder High Society placed high considering they competed against an abundance of rigorous schools all around Ohio. They were in the tier two mixed division and beat high schools from Kenton, Shaker Heights, and Mayfield along with others.
Selina Jones, a sophmore performer in High Society, shared her opinion on what it felt like to perform in front of such a large group of people and to be a part of such an advanced competition: ”As a smaller show choir, we know that we have to try exceedingly hard to do well at competitions. It truly was an unforgettable experience that has set us up for success in the future.”
Later, on February 24, High Society performed once again at the Keynote Classic in Olentangy, they came second in their division.
Now that the competition season for High Society has come to a close, they are continually preparing for next year’s endeavors.
