Arguably the best team in history, the boys golf team has been exceeding many expectations and shooting incredibly good scores in 2018.

The team finished the Central Buckeye Conference regular season 10-0 and winning the team’s first CBC title, winning both the preseason and postseason tournaments.

The team won the Madison County championships for the 6th year in a row and narrowly defeated Fairbanks to retain the Union County championships.

Junior Mychal McKelvey was named the CBC Kenton Ridge player of the year following the postseason tournament. McKelvey was named to the CBC and Madison County first team and was a medalist at the Union County championships.

On the 5th hole of the Union County championships, McKelvey broke the school record for the most birdies in a season.

Juniors Hayden Mitchell and Tyler Hilbert also had impressive seasons, both making the CBC and Madison County First Team. Mitchell was a medalist at the CBC championships.

Juniors Liam Thompson and Chase Pond and sophomore Matthew Fox rounded out the Varsity team, each golfing to impressive seasons.

The team looks to qualify for the District Tournament at Denison GC in Granville, which takes place on October 3rd.

In order for the team to qualify for Districts, the team must make it past Sectionals, which will be tomorrow, September 27th.
