Powder Horn Staff Serves Up Friendly Competition
February 12, 2019
Jonathan Alder Powder Horn Staff’s annual volleyball game is to be held on February 14, 2019. The tradition of the volleyball game began in 2017 in lieu of the talent show which, according to junior Maddy Grove, lost interest from the student body.
According to senior and first-year member of The Powder Horn staff, Hunter Kaltenbach, the game is held “really to get the students involved as a stress reliever as a mini break before spring break.”
Each year, 15 students from each grade level volunteer to face off against staff members of Jonathan Alder High School in a friendly, yet competitive game of volleyball. The volleyball game will be as official as possible, with student line judges and Athletic Director Mr. Vargo reffing.
This year, the staff made the decision to include two additional volunteers from each grade level to act as “coaches” and add to the humor. The Jonathan Alder Pep Band will also be there for entertainment and hype.
Powder Horn staff members say students should look forward to the competitiveness, mini volleyballs to be thrown into the bleachers, as well as the crazy costumes worn by the competitors!
