What has G.o.T. to happen in season 8

April 14 will mark the end of the Game of Thrones TV series. The pilot, “Winter Is Coming,” was released almost 8 years ago on April 17, 2011. In season 8, the final chapters of the story are about to unfold.

Despite being based off a book series, the TV show has already gone past the books, so there is very little to draw predictions over for the final season. However, there are many things that fans still want to see happen before the end of the show.

In preparation for season 8, I have watched all previous 7 seasons. With all the previous events fresh in my mind, here is my list of things that I believe need to happen in season 8 of Game of Thrones.

  1. Cersei Lannister really has to die. The Queen of Westeros has been causing problems for way too long. While some fans like her, or even sympathize with her, I personally can’t stand her.
  2. Someone has to win the Iron Throne. Throughout the seasons, many different families and people have tried to take the throne. As the end of the show approaches, everybody wants to know who will win.
  3. The Night King needs to be defeated. The story of the White Walkers has been building since season one, and now it is coming to a head. The large army of undead, along with their king, are a large issue that needs to be resolved, especially since the Night King now has a zombie dragon under his control.
  4. Arya needs to finish off her list. After her father’s execution in season 1, Arya Stark has had a hit list of all the people who have destroyed her family. As the season went on, more and more of the names on her list have been crossed off, but going into the last season there are still several more. The names left are Cersei, Gregor Clegane, and Sandor Clegane.
  5. Daenerys’ fight against the Lannisters has got to be resolved. The Targaryens and the Lannisters hate each other at this point, and both armies are fighting for the throne. Since there is no way they can find peace, their conflict has to be resolved some how. Hopefully with Cersei dead.

Season 8 will only have 6 episodes, and will only be available on HBO. Remember to mark your calendars for April 14!
