Wrapping Up WandaVision

WandaVision, the hit show, aired the final episode on March 5, 2021. All I can say is WOW, this series has made me completely fall in love with Wanda and made me understand more about her character. In all reality, by the end of the series, we can all agree that Wanda is one of the most powerful Avengers. The series started off slow but as the season progressed, the show started picking up pace.

The basic premise of the show depicts the relationship between the couple post Endgame. Wanda Maximoff and Vision are living an idyllic suburban life in the town of Westview, New Jersey, trying to conceal their true natures.

**WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD**

The first two episodes take place in the 50s and 60s. They weren’t the greatest  due to being quite slow episodes and no major action, however they give a sense that Wanda has to do with being stuck in WestView and causing all sorts of mayhem (or so we thought). A couple of scenes had made us wonder what exactly is going on, for example “Wanda, Wanda, can you hear me Wanda” coming from the radio when she was talking to Dottie. What also was very interesting is once the beekeeper is on screen yo can hear Wanda say no and you’re back to the scene before, when Wanda and Vision had discovered Wanda’s belly. The compelling new belly arrived out of nowhere. In the previous scene when every one were at the magic show Wanda didn’t have a baby bump but soon as they get home there is one.

The 70s episode once finished gave a sense of what’s basically happening. The episode also holds the birth of the twins and a very weird conversation between Wanda and Geraldine, a character that was introduced in episode 2.. Compared to the first two episodes this episode had more action, I would say and personally made me more  interested in the limited series. The reason for that was when it came to the cliffhanger of an ending, Geraldine being thrown out of the barrier and people swarming around her. This scene was brought at the right time, with the slower two episodes, action was picking up just in time before the series became boring.

In episode four, nothing really exciting happens, but episode five takes place in the 80s and  conflict arises between Wanda and the director of S.W.O.R.D causing issues with herself and Vision. Towards the end of the episode comes the most jaw dropping moment. Surprise! it’s Pietro however recasted. As known the new Pietro played by Evan Peters who quicidently played quick silver in X-MEN, giving a nod to that series. Then it just ends there giving a sort of  suspense as to why pietro is back and what is he going to do? Is he going to make wanda stop everything or is he going to cause even more complections.

The 90s episode was a Halloween episode, where we see the Maximoff family dress up like their comic characters. During the episode Vision tries to end his suspicion by exploring WestView more. In this episode we do see the twins’ powers being acquired Tommy have the same power as Pietro and Billy’s powers telekinesis. When Billy’s powers come into action, he can hear his father in pain and goes to tell his mother about the issue. The up and coming scene was my favorite scene, we see Wanda freeze everyone in WestView and expand the barrier to save Vision. When the barrier is expanded Wanda gets the majority of the SWORD base and she turns it into a circus.

Now comes the 2000s was probably one of my favorite episodes because we find out that Agatha is a witch, which is pretty incredible and that she has caused most of the drama that has been happening in the hex. Soon as we come upon Agatha’s identity “Agatha All Along” starts playing which became a really big sound on Tik Tok.

In episode 8 Agatha takes Wanda through different events in her life to try and understand exactly what Wanda’s powers are.  I’m not going to lie, I did tear up in one scene where Wanda sees Vison after his death and coming back from the blip. It really broke me because the expression on her face just hurt, seeing the love of your life being dissected and her not being able to have a say in it was terrible. Going from “I just feel you” in Infinity War to “I can’t feel you,” was heartbreaking. It doesn’t end there though we see Wanda come to WestView that’s when we discover the real reason being Vision had a house for them where they could grow old together. That’s when the water works came out. However, once Wanda comes to the house she breaks down which causes her power to create her perfect world.

Agatha does get a sense of exactly her powers and that Wanda is using chaos magic. Meaning Wanda  is a Scarlet Witch. A great moment because Marvel is finally using her superhero name Scarlet Witch and not just her given name.

In episode 9 we see white vision created by S.W.O.R.D and Agatha fighting Vision from the Hex and Wanda. This episode as well was another tear jerker with Wanda having to demolish everything she has made in this town including her kids and Vision. The upside to this episode is being introduced to Wanda’s new costume. What I really love about this costume is that it’s not basic compared to her costume in the Age of Ultron, End game, Civil War, etc. Elizabeth Olsen who plays Wanda Maximoff had gone to say that she got to put in sugestions for her costume and unlike her past one she won’t show her cleavege since she didn’t feel fully comfortable with it. The new and improved clothing looks fantastic on Olsen and the Head piece is just a great touch from the Comic costume.

I really loved WandaVision, and I enjoyed the different eras in each episode. One thing that had made me aggravated was six minute credits and waiting for the next episode, wanting more. Wanda is one of my favorite Avengers and getting to see something that revolves around her was something I for sure needed. I truly loved getting to see Wanda be able to come to terms that she needs to heal from her loses and seeing her powers evolve. I can’t wait to see more even though I will extremely miss WandaVision, Falcon and The Winter Soldier has recently come out onto Disney, which I strongly recommend for others to watch. In the future we will see the Wanda in the Doctor Strange sequel as well there has been speculations that we may also see her in Spider-Man 3.
