Jonathan Alder traveled to their rival, the London Red Raiders, on September 24. Being the biggest game of the season, the cheerleaders, student section and band were ready to cheer on their team – win or lose.

The Black Hole theme was western, many students showed up in cowboy boots and hats, flannels and even caps. The cheerleaders participated by wearing red cowboy hats during the game. Students could be seen with corn stocks and lassos. Many chants were performed during the game to support the boys in their big game.

Not only does the student section and cheerleaders support the football team, but so does the band. Before any halftime show, the band director Mr. Hennig gives a big speech to the entire band about their performance and how energetic they are going to make not only the crowd feel but the team as well. For halftime they performed “Counting Stars” by OneRepublic, “Believer” by Imagine Dragons and closed with “Toxic” by Britney Spears.

At the end of the game, The Pioneers fell short to The Red Raiders 7-34, they play again on October 1 on the road against Kenton Ridge.
