Girl Bowling Hooks a Win over London on Senior Night

On January 27, the Jonathan Alder girls bowling team hosted London. Having only a few more matches in the season, the seniors were honored. The team brought in a win for their seniors with a total of 2284 pins to London’s 1852 pins. 

Karlie Gavula has been on the bowling team since her sophomore year; being friends with some of the other bowlers influenced her to try out for the team. Her favorite teacher is Mr. Deeken: “he always made class fun and cared for every one of his students.” After high school, Gavula would like to pursue a career in something dealing with social work or psychology. 

Trisha Hall has been on the bowling team for two years. Along with being a Jonathan Alder student, she also goes to Tolles Technical Center in the cosmetology program. Her favorite memories from bowling were the bus rides to and from matches. After high school, Hall plans to pursue her career in cosmetology and work in a salon cutting kids’ hair. 

Shea Huntington has been bowling since her freshman year. Some honors she’s received throughout her bowling career have been sophomore year 2nd Team CBC (2020) and junior year CBC special mention (2021). She “loves bowling and she wouldn’t be able to achieve success without her parents, coaches and teammates.” After high school, Huntington plans to attend Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute to major in animal science.

Jenise Jordan has been on the bowling team since her freshman year, when she earned theCBC sportsmanship award (2019). She believes “bowling has been a great way to meet people and make friends.” Next year, Jordan plans to attend Hocking College majoring in equine health and complementary therapy. 

Satavia Kempton has been bowling since her freshman year. Some honors she’s received throughout her bowling career have been, sophomore year CBC special mention (2020), junior year 2nd Team CBC (2021), along with winning 11 awards among the different tournaments she’s competed in. Kempton’s favorite memory was the first time she got to call the team chant. Attending Tolles Technical Center power sports and auto services program, after high school she plans to continue working in mechanics.

Kenlee Monnin has been bowling since she was 15 years old. She loves the bowling team and the many great memories she has made with not only her team but the sport. After high school Monnin plans to attend Bowling Green for marketing. 

Kadie Walter has been on the bowling team since her freshman year. Some honors she’s received throughout her bowling career have been, freshman year CBC special mention (2019), sophomore year CBC special mention (2020), junior year 1st Team CBC (2021). Her biggest motivators have been her coaches, with her favorite memory coming from “when we got Coach Mike to sing Cardi B.” After high school, Walter plans to attend Columbus State or Bowling Green to major in film production.
