Arizona claims old Alder ‘A’

It’s always nice to have a fresh new look for the beginning of the school year.  Thanks to the University of Arizona, Jonathan Alder Schools were able to create a new look for the Alder district.  Jonathan Alder has recently designed an ‘A’ that gives Alder its very own identity.

The district had been contacted by The University of Arizona regarding the appearance of Jonathan Alder’s ‘A’.  The logo resembled theirs too closely, so a new one was established. Some people have expressed that they prefer the old ‘A’ but as the new one is used they will like and accept it.  Others say they prefer the new one over the old one.  Superintendent Gary Chapman said he likes the new ‘A’.  Chapman likes how it gives Alder its very own look.

While some people were upset that we had to change it, Chapman feels that it was the right thing to do since Arizona had it trademarked and had been using it long before Alder.

In the process of designing the new logo, there were a lot of options.  Vice Principal Mark Fenik stated, “I looked at many different designs and found several that were in my opinion very good.  However, I am pleased with the final design we are using.”

Creating a new look takes a little while to adjust to.  Thankfully, Jonathan Alder was able to send the University of Arizona a phase-out sheet explaining when we will be getting new items that will include our new ‘A’.  Chapman feels that this change has highlighted Alder.  This whole event has given the Jonathan Alder district good publicity and he feels it has had a positive impact on the community.
