The busy and anxious members of Student Council and the advisers, math teacher Leslie Russell and history teacher Megan Toddy, are hard at work planning a memorable Homecoming for the 2015-2016 school year. This year’s Homecoming will be held on October 10 at eight o’clock PM. The dance will be located in Jonathan Alder High School’s auxiliary gym.

The theme for this year’s Homecoming is “A Night Under the Stars.” The theme was voted on by members of Student Council during the first few meetings of the school year. The Student Council’s vision is to decorate in black, white, gold, and silver. Thus far, the Student Council has purchased archways for the entrance to the gym, a city- scape, balloons, ivy, silver and white tulle. The DJ for the event will be Christopher Rodela, junior Isabel Rodela’s dad, for the first time in Alder history.

Tickets for Homecoming will be ten dollars for all grades and any guests planning to attend. Tickets will be able to be purchased from a Student Council Representative during lunch periods starting October 5 through October 9.

Every year the Student Council sponsors spirit week. For this year’s spirit week the themes are: PJ Day, Superhero Day, Disney Day, Class Day, and JA Day. For Class Day every grade level has a different theme. The freshmen theme is Luau Day, the sophomore theme is Western, the junior theme is Tie-Dye and the senior theme is College Wear.

Rules for the event will remain the same as previous years.
