After winning the MOAC last week, the girls soccer team began the district tournament on Monday, October 17 with a win against Columbus International. Due to their placement as 2nd seed in the tournament, the girls’ first game was at home. Assuming that they advance in the tournament, their next two games will also be at home.

The final score ended up as 13-0, and the first goal was scored by freshman Kenzie Bushong within the first 15 seconds of the game. Bushong said, “I was really excited just to be starting the game. When I scored, I felt really excited and felt as if I was really helping my team.”

Head coach Matt Evans said, “We’re taking the tournament one game at a time. We won districts last year and are very capable of doing so again, but we cannot get too ahead of ourselves. Every game is important at this point because if we lose then we’re done with our season entirely.”

The girls continue their tournament with a home game on Wednesday, October 19 against London.
