The famous Bruno Mars announced “The Romantic Tour” on January 8 via social media. Tickets for the tour went on sale Wednesday, January 14th. This day happened to break the record of largest single day ticket sales in Live Nation.
Ticket prices Ranged from $170 to over $1,000 on Ticket Master.
Based on Mars past performances, there are high expectations. Fans say he’s very selective about where he performs and he loves sticking to specific themes. Based on this, we can infer “The Romantic Tour” will have a romantic theme.
Mars also focuses on having more full-band performances rather than track-heavy pop staging.
Because of this, critics often call his performances “real concerts” rather than just spectacles.
Sophomore Brecken Kordack has been a fan of Mars for over 5 years. He wishes he got tickets, but still supports him through listening to his music. “I started to really like and listen to him during the lockdown because I had nothing else to do, and I realized how good his music is.”
“The Romantic Tour” is his first tour since his “24k Magic World Tour,” first launching in 2017. In between these two tours, Mars performed at Park MGM Residency, did a Grammy performance with Silk Sonic, and an Intuit Dome Opening with Lady Gaga. He also performed at the International Stadium Tour in 2022–2024. He performed shows in Australia, Seoul, Tokyo, and did a record-breaking 14-show run in Brazil.
Sophomore Izzy Griffin attended one of these shows. “I saw him two summers ago in Las Vegas,” she says.
Griffin also is attending “The Romantic Tour” and has high expectations. “I really hope he plays his old songs. And I hope he brings another artist out, like Lady Gaga.”
The tour will have over 40 tour dates, spanning across North America, Europe, and the UK. His first tour date is Friday, April 10 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The tour ends on Wednesday, October 14 in Vancouver, Canada.
There is also lots of talk about local Hilliard Darby High School seniors. They originally planned to have their graduation at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio on May 20. Bruno Mars ended up taking over the Stadium for his tour on this day. The school said that they moved graduation to May 19 to avoid concerns regarding safety.
Seniors at Hilliard Darby decided to take action and make a TikTok account that asks Bruno Mars to make an appearance at their graduation ceremony. As of this writing, he has not responded.
Some other nearby shows include Saturday, May 9 in Detroit, MI at Ford Field; Saturday, Aug. 29 in Pittsburgh, PA at Acrisure Stadium; and Tuesday, Sept. 1 in Philadelphia, PA at Lincoln Financial Field.
