The Alder baseball team improved to 16-1 following their big road win against Buckeye Valley. The final score was 4-3 with another win in extra innings.

Sophomore Zayvier Beachy was on the mound for the Pioneers on Monday. Beachy pitched five and a third innings, allowing three runs. Junior Logan Smith finished the game out for Alder. Smith did not let a run come in and got the win for the Pioneers.

The Pioneers had their troubles on the defensive end with a total of four errors. Smith had this to say about the defense, “We are a great defensive team when we are really focused. When our defense is good, we are a really hard team to beat.”

The game was tied after the seventh inning. Alder had to go into extra innings for the third time this year. They are now 3-0 when the games go into extra innings.

The Pioneers look to increase their win total against Gallion, a division rival, on Wednesday. Gallion is currently in second place in the MOAC division. Alder could gain a lot of momentum with a road win against Gallion.
